Features and Information

  • View the geometry chart.
  • This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. Comments:

I've rode this bike for 2 yrs now, and I still love it. It rides so smooth, fast and most important of all, a very comfotable ride. I occasionally have back problems, but after a 25 plus mile ride, my lower back pain is very minimal to none. Great price for a top quality bike.

Great Ride And Transfers Power Directly

    By WIneRoads

    About Me

    Comments:

I have about 250 miles on my 2012 Roubaix Compact which I purchased three weeks ago, and the frame is living up to everything I have read about it. It provides excellent ride quality as well as turning pedal power into unfiltered foward motion. I live in the NorCal wine country, and many of the secondary roads here are in a sad state of repair. I rode one my favorite roads (and one of the roughest--West Dry Creek Rd.) last weekend and was smiling the whole time. I defintely feel I made the right decision when I chose my Roubaix.

This is a great bike. Lightweight. Very responsive. Extremely comfortable ride. Staff at my LBS was very helpful and professional. I test rode numerous bikes but always came back to the Roubaix Expert. Well worth the price!!

Good Blend of Performance and Comfort

      By GaryML

      About Me

      Comments:

I have the 2011 version of the Roubaix SL3 Expert with the Ultegra compact group. The frame is efficient with no bottom bracket flex under hard pedaling, but the ride is comfortable with the frame absorbing a lot of shock. I tried this frame and the Tarmac and prefer this frame for the somewhat more upright geometry and more comfortable ride, while the Tarmac felt a bit more agile and stiffer but less comfortable. The Ultegra components are solid with responsive brakes and very reliable shifting. For some reason the Ultegra crankset just felt better and more solid than the comparable SRAM set or the Shimano 105. Total weight is reasonable for this class. There are some lower cost bikes in this class but the SL3 frame is worth the price. This bike does everything I expect and has never let me down. Any shortcomings in my cycling are due to my own limits of strength and skill.

      Comments:

I bought this bike last week and took it for test drive on SART from Corona to HB, 60 miles and the bike is very comfort, fast, responsive; now I'm convince I can do longer ride with this bike, I have other bikes before but none is as comfort as this bike. I changed seat, wheels, tires. Stem is adjustable, so I have it more upright; the bike fits me perfect, I'm 5'7 & 52cm bike

      Comments:

Heard about this bike from my racer friends - I have never had a good road bike (only mountain bikes up to this bike). I asked the racers for the best all around bike - and they said get the Roubaix because it is comfortable, fast, versatile and a long term investment. All turned out to be true (so far). One downside - some other bikers are anti-Specialized bikes (too mass market I guess). That's their problem.[...]

I am using the Roubaix for commuting as well as club rides. It's the most comfortable, stable, lightest, best handling bike I've ever had. The black carbon is beautiful. Love it!

2nd season completed, a few centuries, some on some rougher roads, and the bike is holding up great! New Conti tires by mid season, but otherwise flawless ride! I'm 6'0" and 200lb, love to climb, and no problems with this frame. Previous comment on broken fork- must have cracked some how, and not noticed.....
